The Robberg Beach Lodge was our third stop during our honeymoon and what an amazing place it is. We stayed in a suite, with great views of the Robberg Nature Reserve. Our room was well appointed, with classic, clean finishes. The large shower is a dream and was very welcome after a long day of hiking at the nature reserve.
The location of the lodge is excellent; the beach is a two-minute walk away and the city centre is just around the corner (in Capetonian terms). We fully utilised the lodge’s location, and spent a lot of time exploring the beautiful gardens and soaking in the view.
The staff are friendly and represent the good vibes of the Garden Route. The manager was knowledgable about Plett and even pointed us in the direction of a few good spots to visit in the town. He was also very attentive to our needs and did a fabulous job of making us feel at home by making sure we had everything we needed. The staff will also make reservations for you at other eateries in the town, which eliminates a lot of hassle. But the food at Robberg is just as nice, so staying in is a great option too. We had dinner in the dining room on one night and the service was attentive, while the food was exceptional and well priced. They also offer a great range of wines to choose from.
The best part about Robberg is the view point from the roof. Here you can sit and have a drink while watching the magnificent sunset. And later on in the evening, the night sky offers great star-gazing opportunities.
We really enjoyed our stay at Robberg and will return to the beautiful hotel and town very soon.
Room Tip: Try to get a sea-facing room. The Cottage Pie is also great for kids.
