Robberg in Plettenberg Bay

The number one question that is asked by first-comers to Plett (and probably any tourist destination) is “what’s the top attraction in town”.

Surprisingly, in Plettenberg Bay you’ll find it’s actually a few kilometers out of town, in the form of the majestic 4km headland named Robberg which stretches out into the Indian Ocean to create the tranquil bay that attracts thousands of tourists every year.

Visitors to Plett have rated Robberg their favourite experience, and left (among others) the following reviews on TripAdvisor:

A must visit in Plett
A must is a visit to Robberg Nature reserve close by Plett and a walk around the headland with beautiful views including the seals.

Beautiful views and hike
Be sure to wear proper shoes and go during the cool part of the day. There is a beach for swimming we wished we’d brought our suits!

Fabulous scenery
This is a popular venue. The day was cloudless and hot and the car park was full. We saw few people however. It is a huge place and the views are fabulous back to Plett and the Headlands/beach areas.

Lovely walk
Stunning views well marked trails. Seals beaches cliffs great walk. We did the longer one about 10 km, took about 2 1/2 hrs, not a hard walk but be prepared for some cliff edge paths and some scrambling up pretty steep and loose ground at the start of the return section.
