One of South Africa’s most acclaimed and successful bands Freshlyground, played at The Barnyard in Plett last week Wednesday.
Their infectious kwela style blended with musical traditions from Africa was a treat. With elements of pop, jazz, blues and indie they had The Barnyard rocking!
Lead singer Zolani Mahola, dedicated her evening performance to UCT student, Uyinene Mrwetyana, in recognition of her brutal murder and highlighted abuse and the plight of women and children throughout South Africa.
