Save the Date: Plett Ocean Festival, 4 – 13 July 2025

Observe, Conserve, Preserve

Plettenberg Bay, South Africa – 28 March 2025. Mark your calendars! The highly anticipated Plett Ocean Festival is set to return, for its fourth year, from 4 – 13 July, bringing a ‘Plett-style’ celebration of Bitou’s rich marine life, conservation efforts, and coastal culture to residents and visitors.

Enjoy moderate and sunny days in Plett as you discover fascinating facts at the Marine Science Symposium, as you explore the Plett shoreline, dive with pros and bird with the best! Become a bona-fide citizen scientist and make a difference with a sustainable mindset. Bring along the entire family – the festival includes family fun during rocky shore excursions, sand sculpting and boat trips to welcome the whales and other migratory marine life. Pack the bikes or rent, as you hike or ride along the coastal trails and adventure on the wild side of Plett. The young learners programme at the Ocean Aweh-ness Hub inspires young minds, and you can add some excitement during the ‘Wedge Classic’ competition where boarders of all shapes ride the Wedge wave. Jump on board to experience the hospitality of the #OnePlett community as they showcase one of the Western Cape’s jewel events this July!

“Plett Ocean Festival is not about just dipping your toes in the water,” says Festival Director, Cindy Wilson-Trollip, “Get right in and be fascinated by the stories of the oceanographers who relentlessly seek out the stories of the creatures of the deep. Come for the thrill of the barrels at the Wedge Classic. Brave the beach launches on excursions led by passionate pelagic birding and marine guides. Walk the most spectacular beaches…it’s Plett ocean culture, so much a part of that undefinable Plett feeling.”
