Plett Tourism is a proud member of the Garden Route Film Commission (GRFC) and is pleased to support the Garden Route International Film Festival (GRIFF). Plettenberg Bay has hosted a number of film and television crews and the festival aims to promote awareness of the destination for location shoots in addition to upskilling local businesses to provide services to the film industry while on location.

The South African Screen Federation (SASFED), supported by the Independent Producers Organisation (IPO), has announced the establishment of a COVID-19 Film and Television Relief Fund in collaboration with Netflix to provide emergency relief to the hardest-hit workers in South Africa’s creative community.
Netflix will donate over ZAR 8, 3 million, which will be administered by Tshikululu Social Investment, who will screen the applications for eligibility as well as disburse the funds to beneficiaries. GoodLuck recently announced the return of their annual summer residency, the 'Get Lucky Summer' concert series this holiday season.
The series will include performances by GoodLuck, along with some of their favourite acts like TIMO ODV, The Kiffness, Matthew Mole, No Method, Nick Hamman and Majozi.
Off the back of 2016’s completely sold out series on the grassy banks of The Beacon Island Hotel in Plettenberg Bay, this year will see the Garden Route’s biggest concert series extend to host events in Knysna as well as Cape Town for the very first time.

After 20 years in operation, The Barnyard Theatre, Plettenberg Bay has been taken over by Mel Botes, a well-known and respected musician, guitarist, composer and producer in South Africa.
The well-connected Botes family have attracted the attention of the many accomplished local performers who have chosen the Garden Route as their home. Local artists will be invited to showcase their talents here, record, become part of the new productions that will be developed here in future.
