Plettenberg Bay is celebrating a historic win as Newstead’s Methode Cap Classique (MCC) Rosé 2018 was awarded a rare Platinum and an exceptional 96 points at the prestigious Michelangelo International Wine & Spirits Awards 2025. This triumph places the boutique 11-hectare vineyard firmly among the country's elite, with their MCC Rosé being one of only 24 entries out of more than 1,330 to achieve this highly coveted status.

Plettenberg Bay, South Africa – June in Plettenberg Bay traditionally heralds the eagerly anticipated arrival of the season's first migrating whales, with sightings frequently shared across social media platforms.
On June 3rd, 2025, the local conservation organization, Orca Foundation, officially announced their inaugural sighting of migrating Southern Right Whales for the whale season. Since this initial observation, these magnificent marine mammals have been a prominent and dynamic presence in the bay.

Letter of Appreciation from Konco’s Sports Tournament Organiser
The vibrant Konco Sports Tournament, organised by local entrepreneur and sports enthusiast Athenkosi Konco, is now in its third year, held at the Kwanokuthula Stadium.
On the 29th March 2025, the first session, hosting netball teams for the first time in a Konco Tournament, was held to great success. Then on 31st May 2025, soccer teams from Gqeberha, Knysna, George and Plettenberg Bay gathered in Plett for the soccer tournament.
